FINDINGS & OBSERVATIONS

After an extensive investigation on the central heating pipe network we successfully located the leak in the kitchen area of the house. On arrival the heating system storage tank was constantly filling with water indicating a there was a constant small leak on the heating system.

We were able to run the heating system and with the aid of thermal imaging
technology we could identify the heating pipes in the floor slab. our next step was to pressurise the system with tracer gas. This gave us a more accurate area to start using our ground microphone to hone in on exactly were the leak was located. At this stage we had identified an area in the kitchen were we were picking up strong readings of tracer gas and strong readings from our acoustic equipment.

We removed a section of the semi solid floor with minimal damage to it and hand tools we were able to expose the heating pipes and leak without causing any unnecessary damage or additional leaks. We then carried out a full repair to the heating system and floor and recommissioned the boiler
